August 8, 1999
    Well, the Hébert Reunion of CMA-LA 1999 is over.  If you were there, we're sure you enjoyed it.  If you couldn't make it, you missed out on a memorable event.  About 1000 people took part in one or more of the events during the weekend.  Yes, it was hot, but isn't it hot everywhere.  
     We only heard positive comments.  Magdalen Place was a great location for the indoor activities.  The Square offered a nice shaded setting for those who went outdoors.  Everyone you ran into seemed nice.  Though the people were from around the continent, many only as close as 8th or 9th cousins ... it really seemed like a family gathering.  A complete report with pictures will be posted later this week.

     One sad note.  On the 5th, Stephanie, the wife of Association vice-president Charles Hebert, passed away.  Several members of the association will be traveling to Houston for the funeral today.  We'd like to take this moment to remember Stephanie's family, as well as other families who have lost loved ones this past week.  Our thoughts and prayers are with them.
