Hallo tout l'monde, la dernière fois que j'ai visiter mes proches était l'an passé. En fait ça s'trouvait a être justement dans l'temps de la fête des Acadiens. C'a l'air que ça va se répéter c't'année. Par contre, j'me garoche dans le bout de Lafayette au lieu du Grand Mo cton. Je prendrai mon vol de Calgary quasiment en même temps que mon frére du Mozambique, pis mon pére de Moncton. Faut pas oublier Charlie pis Vincent qui opteront pour l'Acura 28XZ virtual turbo freakmachine. J'envois un grand salut "Acadjen" aux Nouveau Brunswick de la part des "OUESTBound": parmi ceux-ci compte Christian Roy(en camp entrain de planter des arbres), Pascal Roy(Jasper), Louisette Boudreau ( en Australie), Lisa Leblanc (revenue du Yukon à Banff), (Mouse) Mark Leblanc(Canmore), Mike Arsenault (Calgary), Jeff, Chantal, Pis le frére de Mark Hanson qui se trouve toute icitte à Canmore. Just like to let you know that sites like yours has been very helpful in finding long lost relatives. I am only second generation US on my Hebert line, my grandfather Pierre-Jean immigrated in the 1880's. My father who is 85 and the youngest of 12 did no have the opportunity to know his family of origin, which is something I have difficulty understanding. I wish I had the opportunity to film him this year when I told him I had found his family in Maniwaki, QC and the names of his 15 aunts and uncles. Thanks to George Rose for the helpful link to your site. I live near Grand Pre, Nova Scotia, site of the 1680 Acadian settlement. I just wanted to let you know that I take part in the artisans display at Acadian Days in Grand Pre. Two years ago I was a le to obtain a section of a dugout log that archaeologists from the N.S. Museum dated to the 1680 period. It was a remnant of a huge drainage log that had been hollowed out by the Acadians and used to drain the salt marshes. I am a full time traditional spoon carver so I am using some of the wood to hand carve wooden spoons, spatulas and walking sticks. Some of the wood has the original adze marks on it. I am trying to establish a web site for the Bourgeois Family Reunion in Vacherie, LA. I am part of the reunion planning committee who meet every 6 weeks. There are many Bourgeois cousins coming from Canada and some from France. I am not knowledable in pr paring a web site. I have some volunteers but so far not much help. I see our big problem is housing or RV parking for our event. I know that some of the families coming from Canada want to attend other reunions and the overall cultural events. If I c n get a web site on the internet, it should have some of the information in French. I am really looking forward to being a part of our reunion. Henry
