This was a period of turmoil.
Most Acadians found themselves living in several locations during the three
decades following the deportations. In some cases (ie. in France),
census and church records were kept. In some cases (ie. the American
colonies), they were in another culture that made it hard to keep track
of them.
Census Records: Census
records are scattered and random in this time of turmoil
Church Records: Most
of the records in this period are from those on French soil
