| The Acadians arrived in Louisiana to find
that the government wouldn't pay them well for their goods. They
also found that the English near Manchac would. As in Acadia, they
went against public policy and traded with the English.
For many Acadians, money wasn't necessary for many things. They grew many things needed to survive. When they didn't have something, they often bartered for what they needed using extra crops and livestock. |
