Houmas Indian Irvin Cunningham of Lutcher helps lead the processional Sunday during a re-enactment of the first Acadians' arrival in St. James.  The Houmas were the first to greet the Acadians on their arrival.

Congrès festivities now move to Lafayette, and the closing ceremony is scheduled for this coming Sunday.
