Many Acadian gatherings were held from 1881 to recent times. They were known as Acadian Conventions, and primarily concerned the Acadians of the Canadian Maritime Provinces. After a number of years of not meeting, the first CMA was held in New Brunswick in 1994. The decision was made to hold the next event in Louisiana in 1999. • Earlier Acadian Conventions (pre 1994) • 1st Congrès Mondial Acadien, 1994 • 2nd Congrès Mondial Acadien - Louisiane 1999 • 3rd Congrès Mondial Acadien - Nova Scotia 2004 |
