Martin AUCOIN, who had 3 wives, is the AUCOIN progenitor. He had 2 daughters by his early marriages and finally had a son Jean with his 3rd wife (Marie SALLE). His daughters Michelle and Jeanne are in the 1671 census with their families. There is another AUCOIN, Martin, who would have been about 20 at that time, is missing from the 1671 census but shows up in the 1686 census.

- Some researchers thought that the "widow of Francois GUERIN" mentioned in the 1671 census actually read "widow of Francois AUCOIN."  Please be aware that some data you might come across reflects this error.
